Used Camping Equipment
For those who find new camping equipment too expensive, you can find almost anything you need used, at fairly reasonable prices. Items such as tents and sleeping bags or air mattresses are fine to buy used. Just remember to give it a thorough cleaning before using it.
Water filters and purifiers are probably
better off being bought new. Even though filter blocks and tubing are
easy to replace, the filter itself, with repeated use, can wear out
to the extent that they may not be as effective as they should. Since
there is a health risk involved in this, it is best to play it safe
and buy a new unit. Used cookware
is perfectly acceptable if you don't mind a certain degree of wear.
Buying a used stove can also be slightly risky. If you buy a used stove,
make sure that everything is in good working order, as a malfunction
might cause a fuel leak, and therefore a potential fire hazard.
